Guess that makes me Mrs. J. Martin now?

LOL, just kidding!!! Serious ladies, he's taken now ... dating a model from Quebec.

Anyway, the news finally came out about this year's caravan! I've been waiting weeks for it. I happened to be online when the e-mail notifier popped up and I saw the e-mail announcing it.

Then I went to Ralph's, and when I came home, I looked up and saw the scrolling news...
Russell does yoga and is changing the name on the back of his jersey to "J. Martin"!

Thirty!

I made it! Thirty posts in thirty days!

Wow. I tell ya, it wasn't easy. There were some days were I either didn't know what to post or didn't want to post or didn't want to turn the computer on to post ... but I managed it somehow.

LOL ... now that I've done thirty posts in thirty days ... should I see how long I can go without posting?

Getting caught in funny places

This morning, after our orchestra number, I tried to put my clarinet down. It didn't get very far. A single strand of my hair was stuck to the ligature. I pulled on my clarinet a few times, and it was still stuck. Only one strand. ONE strand. So, I pulled on the one strand, and it broke ... leaving about an inch on the ligature. This reminded me of the many different things and times that my hair gets stuck in weird places.

Cars.
One time, I was leaning into an open car window to talk to a friend. When I leaned back out, he had rolled his window up and caught some of my hair in it. Another time, I was leaning against my car and talking to my friends. When I started to walk away, I didn't take more than a step. A few strands of my hair was stuck along the window frame. I don't know how. But it was.

Refrigerator
I was leaning against the side of the refrigerator at home, watching TV, and doing something. I don't recall what. Might have been homework. My mom opened the fridge to get something and closed it. I leaned forward... and realized when she open and closed the fridge, it got some of my hair caught! I hollered to my mom to open the fridge to get me loose. That has to be the weirdest one.

Blow Dryer
Ever since this incident, I have rarely used a blow dryer on my hair. Our blow dryer has like a grill in the back of it. I was drying my hair, and then I felt this big tug and the smell of something burning. My hair had gotten stuck in the grill. Ever since then, I've rarely used a dryer.

Beginning to Lose My Mind

Earlier this week, I started to get up and get ready for work. My morning routine is that I tell myself what time that I need to be out of the house. And it usually works. Well, that morning, I told myself I needed to be out of the house by a certain time ... then I thought about it ... and realized I was wrong. Because if I left the house at the time that I told myself to ... I would've been half an hour early to work. This morning, I did the complete opposite. And I haven't figured out why yet. I tried to figure it out, tried to reason it out, yet couldn't wrap my mind around it. It still doesn't make any sense to me.

You're sending in the Wolf?

Well, I hope so! So, I was curious when I got on my phone onto the MLB webpage and it said the Dodgers were interested in three pitchers. I wondered which three, hoping Ben Sheets would be one of them. Turned out, he wasn't. But guess who is? RANDY WOLF!!!!!!! I was super excited to see that. Then I get home and find out that they're in "talks" with him. I just about fell off my chair.

So, at work today, I came back from my break and one of my coworkers comes and tells me about one of the customers she had just dealt with.I'm not positive what happened, but she told me that she overheard the customer calling our store stupid, our associates stupid, and our manager stupid. Well, if we're so stupid, why does she bother coming in? And no, we're not stupid. Even though we have to deal with these ridiculous people some times.

Anyone catch the most recent episode of "Criminal Minds"? Anyone recognize where they shot the mall scenes? It was hilarious because when I saw the parking lot scene, I thought to myself ... hmmm those buildings look familiar. Wonder where they ... THAT'S THE EAGLE ROCK PLAZA!!!! Sure enough, there was the entrance and Chuck E. Cheese's. Later on, they showed the interior ... yup ... that's Eagle Rock for you. At least they didn't show the Seafood City, Jollibee's, and stuff like that in the mall. Still, it was pretty funny. Wonder when did they film that.

Maye I should start carrying a little notebook around with me to write down my post ideas. Because during the day, something will happen, and I'll tell myself, "oh, I can write about this when I get home." Then I get home, get on the computer, and forget what happened earlier.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong ... I'll relay a story to you and you be the judge of it.

A customer comes in and asks me, "where is the blue sweater you have on display? The one with a belt." Since I dressed the mannequins, only one sweater comes to mind, and it's a navy belted cardigan. I show it to her. She says, "no, it's blue." Correct me if I'm wrong ... but navy is a shade of blue. And she tells me again, it's blue with a belt. I walk over to the windows to see what is she talking about. Sure enough, there's the navy belted cardigan in one window ... and further down is a blue sweater that has a belt on it. There is a difference, right? The sweater with a belt, and the sweater and a belt. Because one sweater comes WITH a belt, and the other has a belt ON it. She asked me for the sweater WITH a belt.

Onto the Dodgers...
This year's back-up to Russell Martin apparently is going to be ... Brad Ausmus. Let's hope he does better than last year's back up ... what's his name again? You know, the guy who disappeared after he went on the Disabled List in May ... oh yeah ... Gary Bennett. Anyone remember that guy? Well, I liked Danny Ardoin. Sure, his bat didn't do much ... but how many shut outs did the guy catch? At least TWO, I can tell you that much. Maybe more.

Pop quiz... now with the likes of Jeff Kent, Nomar Garciaparra, Derek Lowe, Brad Penny, and Olmedo Saenz ... who on the current Dodger roster has been a Dodger the longest? When I asked my friends that, one of my friends replied "Greg Maddux". She thought the way I phrased it that I meant who was the oldest. I had to remind her two things. One, Greg Maddux isn't a Dodger anymore, he's retired. Two, he probably has less than a year of service total in Dodger uniform. Any guesses?

Jeff Kent ... retired?

Jeff Kent is to announce his retirement.

Now that most of the vets are gone ... who is the current Dodger who has been on the team the longest?

I had to look up the roster and then find the answer.
Here are the top three.

Jason Repko
Hong-Chih Kuo

My 2009 Mini Plan games

MasterCard Value Plan
DayDateOpponent
WednesdayApril 15San Francisco Giants
MondayMay 4Arizona Diamondbacks
MondayJune 1Arizona Diamondbacks
SaturdayJune 6Philadelphia Phillies
MondayJune 29Colorado Rockies
SundayJuly 19Houston Astros
TuesdayJuly 21Cincinatti Reds
TuesdayAugust 4Milwaukee Brewers
MondayAugust 17St. Louis Cardinals
TuesdaySeptember 1Arizona Diamondbacks
SaturdaySeptember 5San Diego Padres
SaturdayOctober 3Colorado Rockies

Oddly enough, it's different from last year's in that I see one team three times and another team twice. Last year's plan included twelve games and twelve different teams. This year's plan does cover more days. Practically all our games last year were on Mondays. There was only one Saturday game, two Friday games, no Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday games. That I can recall off the top of my head. I like having three Saturday games, and the rest are still mostly Monday games with three Tuesday and one Wednesday games. I'm looking forward to this season. Can't wait till they announce the lineup and locations for this year's caravan.

Blake DeWitt interview

Okay, so I know I already blogged for today. But I can't wait for tomorrow to put this entry up, so I'll do it now. Watch the video below! Pause it at 0:48

It's MY PICTURE!!!! See picture below

It's the same picture on the side as well. I couldn't believe it.

The Americana

Okay, so tonight we went to the Americana to watch a movie. We parked in the parking lot, saw the movie, and then left. We went to the kiosk to take care of our parking ticket thingy that you get validated to park there. The first machine would take it, then say canceled, and spit the ticket back out. We tried again. Didn't work. So we tried the next machine. It showed "3.00 hours" and "$5". Apparently, it didn't get validated. So, Sherisse took the ticket, my movie ticket, and went back to the movie theater. So, Heidi, Christianne, and I waited for her. We were leaning on the railing and looking at the water fountain. Next thing we know, there's a security guard on the floor level shining his flash light at us. He yells at us to not lean on the railing. So we back off. Then he yells at us to step away from the railing. He yelled some more until he couldn't see us anymore. And, our ticket wasn't the only ticket that wasn't validated. Angelina's wasn't either. Back to the railing ... there was no sign anywhere that said "No leaning on rail" or "Do not pass this line" or anything about going near the rail. So, naturally, we leaned on the rail.

Still no voice

Well, actually, I do have a voice. It's just a certain range. Like if it get's high pitched, then I get squeaky. I'll give it a week to get back to normal. If it doesn't, then I guess I'll have to go to a doctor.

Speaking of voices... Daniel got to open up testimonies at church tonight. He mentioned that even though he doesn't always get to go to church on Sundays, he's thankful for Christian radio stations. It reminded me of the two months I spent in North Carolina a few years ago when I didn't have a church to go to while I was visiting my family. And I also didn't have anyone to take me to church. It reminded me of this awesome Christian radio station that I was listening to while I was there. It was one of the best radio stations I ever heard. You would think that living in L.A. that we would have lots of great Christian stations right? After all, we have tons of diversity. Apparently it doesn't apply to the radio waves. Because we only have two Christian radio stations. And one of them doesn't always get the greatest reception. So we have one and a half radio stations sometimes. We've got the Fish, that plays the same songs over and over. It's mostly praise and worship songs. It also plays a lot of older songs. Then we've got Air1, that comes and goes depending on where you are. It has a lot of great new stuff, but it's mostly Christian alternative music. I loved that other station and KLOVE because they were sort of in the middle. They played praise and worship music, alternative, and things in between. I liked them because they were inspirational as well. It's been a few years now. I can't seem to remember the name of the radio station. I'll find it. It was like 106.9 or something like that ... in North Carolina, mind you. It was funny. After I returned home, a customer asked my cousin, "what happened to the nice young girl who was always listening to the Christian radio station?" Then my cousin told her that I went home.

No more voice...

For the moment. My voice has checked out for the night. We shall see if it checks back in in the morning.

Here's my thought for today. Why do women (particularly the middle-aged women) wear white blouses ... but no undergarments other than their bras? Even black ones! I cannot tell you how many times I cringe when I see a customer come in, wearing a white blouse, that I can see their bras and everything else underneath it. Do they just not realize how see-through their blouses are? And I'm not talking teeny-boppers, teenagers, or even young adults. I'm talking about middle-aged women! Women who probably had teeny-boppyers, teenagers, and college kids. Women who should know better! I'm not talking about solid blouses. I'm talking about cotton blouses, linen blouses, blouses that are not solid enough to hide a white bra or black bra or anything else for that matter. I don't know. Because whenever I wear a blouse, I either have a camisole or tank top under it or a sweater or vest over it.

So, after I'm done with this episode of "Jon and Kate Plus 8" I'm going to bed. My throat is feeling scratchy and so is my voice.

February 14

Less than a month till...

The catchers and pitchers report for Spring Training!!!!

LOL did you think I was going to say something about V-Day? Because I wasn't. Let's just say ... my friends made plans for V-day and I plan to have nothing to do with it.

Speaking of Spring Training ...they have set the dates for this year's Dodger Caravan. As guessed, it falls on the first Tuesday and Wednesday of February ... being February 3rd and 4th. I've already got my request in for those days off. Last year, I didn't know about the caravan till like the day before. Fortunately, I had the day off for one of them. That's where I met Jo! The year before that, I was on the East Coast. I had flown out that morning (it was 12:05 AM so technically, it was that morning) and knew nothing about the caravan. Until Angelina texted me! And, that was also when I was still a new Dodger fan (prior to that day, I had only been to ONE Dodger game). I'm excited about this year's caravan!

Eighteen Days

Eighteen posts in eighteen days. And I'm starting to wonder ... what do I write about now?

We're fifteen days into the New Year. I haven't given much thought about my New Year's "Wish". It's the same one as last year. But I haven't given that much thought about it. Nor have I given it any hope. It's hopeless. And it's funny because it's like a huge roller coaster ride. I go through these periods where I am totally okay with it. I don't think about it. I don't worry about it. And it doesn't bug me. Those are the up parts of the roller coaster ride. Then there are the moments where the coaster just crashes and I feel like my world is falling apart and I'm all alone. I just have to ride it out till the coaster goes back up again.

It's funny because I've been watching "Jon and Kate Plus 8". It's funny because I am so glad my life isn't so complicated or chaotic. It's a rather boring life actually. So boring, that I don't know why I bother keeping up with a blog. But I like to write. A lot. It's funny because I want and don't want to be married with kids. Why? I want to have a husband and kids because I want to love and be loved. I want to find that "happily ever after" that doesn't exist. I want to find that "special someone" who I can spend the rest of my life with. But at the same time, I don't want to give up my freedom. I don't want to give up the things that I love to do and the things that make me ... me. Maybe that's why I like being single so much. I can take off and not worry about a family or a husband or a boyfriend. I can go to as many Dodger games I want and not worry about a family budget or who has the kids or that kind of stuff. So, I've got to find this place in my life where I am content with who I am and content with being single.

Hot Water

So... our hot water heater busted yesterday morning. Not only did we have absolutely NO hot water in our house ... but there was half an inch of water in the laundry room. And if you know me, I take HOT showers. I do not take cold showers unless it's like 110 degrees ... inside the house. So, I improvised. I heated up hot water on the stove to do the dishes. But there was no way I could heat enough water (nor had I have anything large enough) to take a bath. Could you imagine trying to fill a bath tub with hot water??? This morning, we got our heater replaced. But the guy didn't show up till around ten. Then he had to leave to get a new one. I knew there was no way it would be replaced in time for me to shower to go to work. So, I went to Nina's.

This reminded me of our old apartment that we lived in when I was a kid. Our hot water heater would go out ... and we would have to relight it. Then when we moved into this house, we had no hot water on our first night. I still remember washing the dishes with freezing cold water.

Back Home Alive

So, like I said, on Saturday, I made the trip up to Sacramento and back for Richard and Ligia's wedding. We (Karla, Kevin, and I) left a little before 7 AM to get to Sacramento for the wedding, which was at 2. When we were coming down from the Grapevine, there was this HUGE rolling fog right in front of us. It was crazy. It was awesome. The fog was really thick at first. Then it thinned out. It would get thick and thin for the next hour and a half or so. It didn't clear up till after Fresno. We stopped once for lunch, gas, and coffee (well, only Karla got coffee). We rolled into the church parking lot a little after one. The wedding was beautiful. Alin and his sister-in-law (Abbie) sang "When You Say Nothing At All"; Simon sang "I Will Be Here"; Heidi sang "How Beautiful"; Sam and his wife Alina sang "Answered Prayer". And yes, they are all related to Ligia (they're her siblings unless otherwise mentioned). After the wedding, there was a light reception. Then we did the bouquet and garter tosses. The crowd for the bouquet toss was relatively small. When Ligia tossed the bouquet, it came straight at Sherisse and I. It just fell right through our hands. It hit the ground. I picked it up, and handed it to Julia (one of the little girls) since she was the closest. And I knew she'd give me a rose if I asked her for one. Then it was time for the garter toss. When Richard was getting ready to shoot it off, his new brother-in-law was tell him the correct way to do it. Bryan caught the garter. We then lined up by the church doors to blow bubbles to send off the newlyweds. When they got into the car, they couldn't get it to start at first. It started eventually and they took off. Then one by one, the cars in the parking lot started to go too. We left a little after 4:30. The drive home was quiet. Kevin and Karla both fell asleep after dinner. We were about thirty miles away from dinner and gas when my gas light went on. I looked at the odometer for the next thirty miles, hoping that we would make it to the next gas station. I even slowed down my speed (since I've heard you get better mileage at slower speeds). We drove past a highway patrol cop and I took my foot off the gas to slow down a little. Then I laughed and realized, he's not going to pull me over for speeding ... I was barely going the speed limit to begin with! Believe me, we saw a lot of highway patrol cars that day. At least a dozen going up and maybe half that many going down. We got gas and dinner, which woke me up. Unfortunately, it put my passengers to sleep. What time did we get home? A little after 10:30. I say we made good time.

Congratulations!!!!

Congratulations to

Richard Delgado, Jr. and
Ligia Baros for tying the knot!!!

Gone for the day

It's going to be a long day indeed. Not only am I going to a wedding ... but I will be driving six hours to get to the wedding and six hours to get back. Why? Because I didn't decide till just a few days ago that I would be going to the wedding. Since I decided so late, naturally, I didn't request the time off from work. Fortunately, I did have the day of the wedding off. Unfortunately, I didn't have the day before or the day after off. That's okay. I'll manage. Initially I wanted to post pictures of the happy couple ... but I ran out of time. So, I'll try to do that some time this week. Then I will post any pictures I may take at the wedding. We'll see. Since my camera no longer has a flash, I don't know what kind of pictures I'll be able to take. Hopefully I can get some from Kevin.

Fog and Pasadena

So... I'm at home updating my Itunes library and my Ipod... and around 11:30 PM (which is now almost three hours ago) I get a text from Kevin. He asks me if I'm still awake. Turns out, he and his friends were in Pasadena still... and needed a ride home. They had been waiting for a bus (that never showed up) for almost two hours. I told him to stay put and that I would come and get them. My jeans were in the dryer, so I left in my pajamas. I didn't realize how foggy it was outside. Since it was so late, I figured it would be safe to take the 110. I never take the 110 because it's so windy. But I figured it'd be okay to take it now. It was really foggy and dark the last half mile. When I get there, I don't see him waiting at Starbucks. Turns out, he was across the street. The fog was nice, though. After I dropped him and his friends off ... I went home to discover a skunk waiting for me in the driveway! It ran off when I pulled it. I took my time getting out of the car. I didn't want to surprise the skunk if it was still out there. As I got closer to the door, I saw the skunk scurrying towards the street. First a raccoon... then oppossums ... now a skunk. What next?

Idiots behind wheels

So, I'm getting ready to leave work. I look behind me as I'm getting ready to pull out. No one there, right? Well, there wasn't anyone there when I looked. So I started to back out ... and this truck comes racing down the aisle and has the nerve to honk at me! I go down to the bottom floor and if you didn't know ... most of the aisles in our parking structure go one way. And there are signs and arrows everywhere to help point you in the right direction. However, many many people don't know how to read! Why do I say that? Because not only did this person ignore the arrows on the ground pointing in the opposite direction of the way he was heading ... he also turned when there was a BIG sign above him that said "DO NOT TURN". What does he do once he turned where he shouldn't have turned??? He stopped there. I don't know what else he did, because I wasn't going to stick around and see. You'd think the stupidity would stop there. As I reach the exit of the mall, this van comes racing down the parking structure to cut me off and run a stop before exiting the mall. He races to the intersection, barely slowing down to stop. And I mean, barely. It looked like he was going to just run right through the red light. Idiots. Every one of them.

Fitting rooms and bathrooms

So, I know I've gone over how customers shop with this "department store" mentality. It still hasn't changed because people still go into full fitting rooms when there are plenty of empty ones available. And then there are those who change in the hallway instead of a fitting room. We had one of those today. The lady had to been in her forties at the latest. And she was changing in the hallway. All the other customers were giving the one customer a weird look.

I've come across this other conclusion.

Wouldn't you prefer a clean, empty fitting room to one that has clothes all over it? Isn't it like going to a public bathroom? Wouldn't you prefer to have a nice, clean bathroom to one that is dirty and needs to be cleaned and flushed?

What an interesting day this has been

We went to Mount Baldy today. It'll probably be the last time for awhile, since the kids go back to school next week. We were supposed to leave earlier, but didn't because I didn't want to get up just yet. I stayed up reading. I've read like four books in the last week. Average number of pages : 300. Average time it took to read a book: 3.5 hours. Anyway, back to the snow.

When we got there, there weren't a lot of people up there. We found out why. Most of the snow had already melted. A lot of rocks were exposed. What snow was left had a frozen layer that made it more like an ice rink. We did a lot of sliding around as we tried to walk across. Nina, Kevin, and Harold went up a little slope and tried to go down it. Harold slipped and fell. On his way down, he ran into Nina. She slipped and fell too. She slid down towards a tree. When she tried to stop herself... she hit some of the rocks with her head... and this is what she got...

It looks worse than the picture. But it's not that bad.

It was funny because we would take two steps forward and then slide a few steps backwards. Harold tried to climb up the mountain, but we made him come back down. On his descent, he started to go really fast. Then he hit a huge bump on the bottom. It was hilarious. I wish I could've taped it. But I wouldn't bring my camera out there since the ground was so slippery.

It was so slippery that we started at one end ... and slid all the way down to the other end. We must've gone somewhere between a quarter to half a mile. It was a ton of fun. There was one spot where there was a big ditch right in front of where we were going to start. Harold and Nina went first. Then I was supposed to go. Instead of going forward, I fell backward into the ditch. It was fun sliding all the way down there ... except for the part where we had to walk all the way back to the car.

On the way home, we stopped at WalMart to see if they had a copy of "The Game of Life - Twist and Turns." David brought it with him when he was here last week. We liked the game a lot. So I went to two different Targets, and neither of them had it. So, we figured we should stop by Walmart on our way home from Mount Baldy. Not only did we find the game we were looking for ... we also found the family edition for Cranium. I also got another Julie Garwood novel. It's not her most recent one, but the one before that. I bought her most recent one just last week. I loved it. "Wait for it. Wait for it."

After WalMart, we went to my house since I had to pick up Billy later. We played Rock Band for a little bit. I wanted to try the new songs I got. Two of them were No Doubt songs. The first song we did was "Just A Girl." I sang, Harold played the guitar, and Kevin was on drums. My level was on medium, and I got 100%. On our way out, Harold was kicking at some leaves that were in the grass. We were going to pick up my brother and we noticed the car smelled funny. Turned out ... when Harold was kicking at the leaves ... he got some doggy poop on the side of his shoe. As soon as I parked, the three of them jumped out of the car. Harold got the poop off his shoe and tried to clean it. Nina put a ton of disinfectant on Harold's shoe. Kevin went to get a bunch of paper towels. He stepped on what he thought was leaves ... turned out he stepped on the poop that Harold scraped off his shoe!

We went back to Nina's and played "Life". We were about halfway through the game when Harold accidentally turned off the game ... forcing us to start over. So, we had dinner before trying to play another one. We ran out of time so we had to end the game. We went to prayer meeting. Everyone was asking Nina about her eye. Brother Byron had to do a double take when he got up and saw her eye. After we went over the requests, he came over and asked her if she was going to be okay.

Afterwards, we went to Nina's for a little get together for Rachel and Sarah. They were leaving the next morning to go back to Arkansas. We had pizza and played two games of Cranium. The family edition is different. It's easier and bit different. There's "stunt double" where you had to do something. On one of them, Kevin had to make a hoop out of the clay while Nina and Sarah had to throw at least three cubes through it. It was fun.

Over all ... it was an interesting day.

What about me????

So, there's a wedding coming up this weekend. At first, it was decided that none of us were going to go. Of course, no one said anything to me about this. Regardless if I was planning on going or not. Naturally, I had no say in this.

Guess what happens today? Apparently everyone's going to the wedding now. Everyone except for me. Two of them are going with a friend, and everyone else is going with their family. No one asked me if I wanted to go. No one asked me how I would go. No one asked me if I already had a plan. Naturally, of course.

So, this weekend, everyone will be out of town for the wedding.

Except for me.

I'll be at home... doing nothing... since everyone else is going to be out of town.

Mr. Bruise

So, two weeks ago, we went to Mt. Baldy. I came home with a huge bruise on my leg (and my arm). Nearly two weeks later ... the bruise on my arm is gone. The one on my leg however... it faded to this!

The pictures don't do it any justice. But if you couldn't tell ... my bruise spells out ...
M
R
.(period)

That's right. It spells "Mr."!

Interesting right? I noticed it last night.

Wonder if my next bruise will give a clue to who belongs to the rest of the "Mr."

Maybe it will be a clue to who my future husband may be.

The craziness continues

I forgot to mention that towards the end of my shift ... someone brought it to our attention that the woman's bathroom was out of order. Not only was it out of order, it was flooded. And I mean FLOODED. So, my assistant manager and I spent the next thirty to forty minutes cleaning up the bathroom. It was so gross. It smelled. And there was "water" everywhere. We wore two pairs of latex gloves. It was so gross. We would squeeze the mops into an empty trash can. It was gross. It smelled. It was gross. By the time we finished, my gloves had turned green. It was gross.

So... today... at the end of my shift, these three ladies came in. One of them had a birthday discount. They all wanted to use it and pay with their own card. Unfortunately, only one of them had the birthday discount. It was quite an ordeal. And I had to clock out because my shift was over. The customer with the discount wanted to know where I was going. Even the other two people working were getting irritated by them. The customer told my assistant that she was a in hurry. Twice. So, my assistant told her that she heard her the first time.

And if you haven't noticed yet, I'm trying to see how many days in a row that I can write in my blog.

Is my head still on?

Because it got bit off twice today at work... within seconds of each other!

Around one o'clock this afternoon, I was taking a return and exchange. Simple right? Well, except the daughter of the customer presented a little flier for a promotion that was already over. She argued with me that the flier said it was good till the end of December. Unfortunately for her, that promotion only lasted a day before the company changed it to a different promotion. She tried to argue again that the associate who rang her mother up on Wednesday forgot to apply the discount. I tried to tell her again that the promotion was already over. She said argued that her mother was in on Wednesday on the last day of the promotion. I told her again that the company ended that promotion a long time again. She argued that it was good till the 31st which wasn't a long time ago. Then she tries to explain this to me. I tried to stop her so she wouldn't waste her time and my time because the answer was the same. She wouldn't let me. She held up her hand and told me to listen. Thankfully one of the assistants took over and got her on the phone with customer service. While they were doing this, I went to get something for the girl's mom (the customer). While I was going to the fitting room, another customer stopped me and asked me a question. I gave her an answer (being no, we didn't have it) and continued into the fitting room. When I came back out with the items for the other customer, she stopped me again. I gave her the same answer (another no) and proceeded to go back to the register to go back to my customer that I was working with. The customer who stopped me goes, "Don't walk away! Nevermind. I don't want your help. That is so rude." The other assistant steps in and helps her. The entire time the customer was complaining on how rude I was being. (Here's my argument: First of all, I was helping another customer who needed my undivided attention. Second of all, I already answered her question. I guess I should've just told her that I was helping someone else and was unable to help her at the moment. Guess that's what happens when you try to help everyone.) I hand the items over to the customer, who wants more of the same item. So I go to the stock room to see if we have more. We didn't. The assistant is now helping the customers, so I walk away from the registers. I get called back to finish up with the customer.

Over, right?

Wrong. Their limit was only a thousand and their purchase was almost two thousand. I had already wrapped up a lot of the things for them. The daughter gets on the phone with customer service to see about increasing their credit limit. While she's doing this, I have to unwrap all the merchandise that I already wrapped up and bagged. She gets off the phone and says that they're in a hurry because she was going to be late for work. Maybe she should've thought about that earlier. Maybe instead of arguing with me and running around the store pulling things to buy, she shouldn't just found what they wanted and bought it instead of taking her sweet time. Because while I was ringing up the things they had already picked up, she was going around the store getting more things. She asks me if I could do it a little faster when I told her I was going to cancel the transaction and start over. It would be easier and faster to do that then to individually take items off. So, we sorted the piles into two. One they were going to put on hold. The other they were going to buy. Most of the things they put on hold were full-price items (since those were the only things they could hold). Most of the things they bought were sale. Then they added a few more full price items to get to the thousand dollar mark. And because they were in a hurry, she wanted to know how much the other stuff was going to be. I asked her to leave me her name and number and I would call her later with total.

As they were getting ready to leave (with three bags of stuff), she asked me for another bag. Mind you, we are only supposed to give the customers the bags for their things and that's it. I had already been nice and gave her a bag before the whole fiasco. And how does she say thanks? She nearly rips my head off. Then she turns back to Hyde and is sorta nice throughout the next forty minutes. Then she tries to get another bag off me?

What did I do after they left?

I went to Mod Mocha to get a slice of their incredibly delicous chocolate mousse.

No luck.

Haagen Daz it is!

Happy New Year!

May this year be better than the year before. I don't know how the year could be any worse. Actually, I do. Because in a few weeks or months ... it could be worse than last year. Then again, it may not happen and this year could be better than last. Nothing really sticks out to me from 2008. Except maybe all the Dodger games and events that I went to. But is that really how I want to sum up 2008?

You know that Christmas song by Mariah Carey, "All I Want for Christmas is You"? Because that's all I want for 2009. That special someone. Except, I know that I would screw up any relationship if I could ever get any guy to ask me out. Never will happen. After all, I did read it somewhere that men can smell desperation and neediness a mile away. And that sends them away like a skunk in a house full of people.

I don't want to be the kind of girlfriend who's needy and clingy. But I'm afraid that I might be that kind of girlfriend. Because I've never been in a relationship before. I've never dated. I've never been asked out on a serious date before. I can count on one hand how many times I've been asked out by someone I know. And I wouldn't even need half the fingers on my hand. Then there's then number of times that I've been asked out by a complete stranger. I can't tell you how many times I've met a guy that I liked ... and be completely mortified by it later on. I can't tell you how many guys I've liked ... who are now married to someone else.

Face it. I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life. However short it may be. I just wish I could know how it feels to be the apple of someone's eye. I just wish I could know how it feels to be held in someone's arms. I just wish that "Happily Ever After" could really happen to me. I just wish that I could know how it feels to have someone who finds me attractive, who wants to spend time with me, who wants to hear my voice every day, who wants to have me be the first person they see in the morning, and the last person they see at night. I just wish that I could find someone who would want to spend the rest of our lives together.

Face it. I will never find someone like that. Because sometimes even I don't feel that way about msyelf. Okay, so most of the time.

Face it. "Happily Ever After" only happens in the movies.
